What is NATA ?
NATA stands for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture. It is a national-level entrance exam in India, conducted by the Council of Architecture (CoA). NATA is a gateway for admission to undergraduate architecture programs (B.Arch) in various colleges and universities across the country.
Key Highlights of NATA:
- Purpose: Tests the aptitude of candidates for architecture by assessing their drawing skills, observation, aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking, and mathematical reasoning.
- Eligibility : Candidates must have completed or are appearing in their 10+2 with Mathematics as a compulsory subject.
- Exam Structure:
- Includes both drawing and non-drawing-based sections.
- Subjects: Mathematics, General Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Drawing.
- Mode: Computer-based for theory and a pen-and-paper mode for the drawing test.
- Frequency: Conducted multiple times a year (usually three times), and candidates can appear for any or all attempts. The best score among these is considered.
- Score Validity: NATA scores are valid for the academic year in which the exam is taken.
